The studio

A small Dutch learning project built from frustrating practice sessions.

Letterform Practice Room is operated by Hues Capital B.V.. The project began in 2022 after a recurring problem in informal calligraphy study groups: learners could often see that a line felt uneven, but had no vocabulary or process for locating the cause.

From “copy this” to “inspect this.”

The first worksheets were simple comparison sheets: the same stroke written with early pressure, late pressure and controlled release. That diagnostic approach became the basis for modules on slant, spacing, joins and tool setup.

The platform serves remote learners in the Netherlands. It is educational in scope and does not operate as a commercial lettering studio or professional advisory service.
